What we need right now…
1. Writers – Magazines, Blogs and other Online Publications
Do you believe The Mycelium School is an idea whose time has come? Why? Your thoughts would be good starting place for an article.
Here are some genres and themes to consider:
Alternative Education, Ecological Education, Social Entrepreneurship, Intercultural Experience, Gap Years, Innovation, Social Entrepreneurship, Hands-on Education, Personal Stories that involve these.

2. Graphic Designers
Do you have a handle on Adobe InDesign, QuarkXPress or Adobe Illustrator? Work with us in developing print materials such as brochures, one-pagers, event invitations, flyers, and posters. We’re looking for folks to work with us to combine copy content, photographs, brand, and logo together in a visually interesting, polished, and professional manner.
3. Back End Web Programmer
We have an idea for a web-based collaborative platform that we’d like someone to collaborate on and develop.
4. Help us Develop our Fundraising Strategy
Help us develop our fundraising plan by identifying prospective funding sources and work with us to develop a strategy and tactics.
5. Grant Writers (You do not have to be a professional grant writer)
Research & identify appropriate grants while helping us prepare proposal and applications. We’ll give you some professional guidance if you haven’t previously written proposals.
6. Awareness Raising
Develop an actionable strategy for improving and expanding the school’s friends and supporters.
7. Researchers
We have several areas that we’re conducting research on from finding prospective students to developing low cost sustainable infrastructure. This is a good fit for someone who has a little or a lot of time to invest.
8. Crowdfunding
Create an online crowdfunding campaign to build an audience and raise funds to meet our strategic fundraising goals through platforms like Crowdrise, Kickstarter, Razoo & Start Some Good
9. Google Ad Words
Help us take advantage of the free advertising grants that Google offers nonprofits by developing a Google Adwords strategy that is in line with our strategic goals.
10. Social Media Campaign
Do you have experience leveraging social media to raise awareness of a cause or an organization? Consider working with us in developing and implementing a social media strategy designed to raise awareness about the school in general as well as specific events we are involved with.
11. Market research
Market research can consist of interviews with key stakeholders and surveys as well as literature reviews of existing research. By talking with prospective teachers, participants, partners, donors, etc. you will glean an understanding of what our stakeholders value.
Spread the word! We are not only fund raising, but friend raising as well. If you have some friends that you think would like to know about the school, pass on the website. If you deeply believe in it, send the link to everyone in your address book. You have no idea how much this helps us. Thank you.
Make an In-Kind Donation: Whether you contribute frequent flyer miles, old computers or printing service to assist the school’s every day operations, or you would like to donate a massage, a week stay at a vacation home or a signed basketball by Michael Jordan to be auctioned off at one of the school’s fundraisers, your contribution will bring us ever closer to bringing the dream to life.
Does Your Business Have a Social Mission? Perhaps they have a social investment policy where a portion of their portfolio goes to charity. If so, this school may meet their socially responsible investing needs.
